One Penthouse Remains at Park Laurel Luxury High Rise

12/05/2003

For that hard to find buyer "special someone" in your life, the ultimate holiday gift in San Diego may be found on the top two floors of the recently completed Park Laurel on the Prado, located at the entry of Balboa Park on the block bound by Sixth and Fifth Avenues and Laurel and Maple Streets.

This ultra luxury residential high-rise has quietly opened this fall and most all of the forty-eight spacious high-rise residences have been completed and sold, with about twenty-five residences already occupied by new homeowners, which includes several business, civic and social leaders.

The last remaining of the four penthouse homes boasts almost 4,800 square feet on two floors with two terraces, (one terrace is forty-four feet long and wraps the corner of the building, allowing spectacular views of downtown San Diego, the bay, the ocean and Point Loma.

The floor plan allows for three or four bedrooms, with three baths that feature travertine flooring and counter tops along with soaking tubs situated where you can view the skyline as you enjoy a relaxing bath. The spacious, entertainment-friendly European island kitchen features upgraded Bel Air cabinetry and state of the art Viking gas range, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and trash compactor.

The home has a private elevator foyer and a residential elevator, which services the living area up to the upstairs master bedroom. Privacy and security are at a new level at Park Laurel, as all homes have direct elevator service, private foyers and double-doored private entry via the owners computer key card.

And the price? Only a little over $3 million dollars, according to Don Rossignol, Park Laurel Sales Associate. "We have a lot of interest in the home, both from empty nesters who are ready to leave the big house and maintenance issues, to young professionals who desire the urban lifestyle and accessibility to Balboa Park," added Rossignol.

The two towers of Park Laurels architecture is a contemporary interpretation of the classic design motifs of Balboa Park. At the second-story level between towers, a large deck with a pool and spa is under development, as is the pool lounge, an executive conference room and a workout center.

The buildings share an elegant lobby and with 24 hour attended service, and a large, controlled-access subterranean parking garage.

The second phase of Park Laurels Tower Two is now under construction and will include another forty-six luxury condominiums. The developers, CLB Partners and RS Lawrence Development have begun a waiting list of almost two hundred interested buyers, who will be contacted in early 2004 as the second building readies for its sales program.
