1999 McKinney Loft High-Rise Awarded Best Brick Building by Masonry Council

11/06/2003

1999 McKinney, the new 24-story luxury residential loft high-rise located two blocks north of the new Nasher Sculpture Center, has been awarded the 2003 Golden Trowel Award for design excellence by the Texas Masonry Council. The award was recently presented to HKS Architects, the Dallas architectural firm responsible for the stunning stair-step design of 1999 McKinney, which is now 75% sold.

"CLB Partners is honored that the Texas Masonry Council has chosen 1999 McKinney as recipient of this prestigious award," said Ron Cibulka, project developer and partner with CLB. "We salute HKS for its superb architectural design of the building. We hear many positive comments from real estate agents as well as our buyers regarding the projects stair-step design. They also reference the beauty and durability of the all-brick exterior, as 1999 McKinney is the only new all-brick residential high-rise in Dallas."

"We were looking for projects with a good balance of design and craftmanship," said Kyle Montgomery, executive director, Texas Masonry Council. "The project was one of 20 significant entries from throughout the state of Texas. However, it won due to the teams ability to bring the clients vision to reality while providing distinctive architecture, expert craftsmanship and teamwork."

"The award acknowledges a job well done and a team effort by all involved," said Jay Waters, AIA, project manager, HKS, Inc., "the extent of the brick used on this 22-story building allowed designers the ability to provide a distinct level of detail in addition to meeting various related challenges."

Each two-story residence at 1999 McKinney has a view of the internationally acclaimed Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas Arts District and the Dallas skyline. The residences are within walking distance of American Airlines Center, the Crescent and Uptown Dallas, according to Deborah Arnold of David Griffin & Company Realtors and on-site Sales Director.

"Our buyers are looking for the amenities of a great neighborhood - the arts, dining and entertainment," added Arnold. "The opening of the Nasher Sculpture Center has added to the prestige of our location. Prospective buyers have commented on the integrity of the HKS design and how our building compliments the views from inside the gardens of the Nasher Sculpture Center."

"We are now 75% sold, but still have several desirable two-bedroom and three-bedroom floor plans available on the upper floors, ranging in size from 2,300 square feet to over 3,100 square feet. Prices range from $450,000 to $1 million," added Deborah Arnold.

Standard features and finishes include hardwood flooring in living, dining and kitchen areas with accents of polished concrete flooring in the entry as well as the sleeping areas. Kitchens feature granite slab counter tops, gourmet gas ranges and stainless steel GE Profile appliances. Master bathrooms include six-foot whirlpool bathtubs and separate, over-sized marble showers with travertine floors.

Furnished model homes are open for tours Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. 1999 McKinney is located one block south of the Crescent on McKinney Avenue at Harwood Street.
